What's on Tap at Salsa?

Well we're glad you asked! Salsa on the Strip is the best bar at the Lake of the Ozarks with many fantastic beers on tap! When you're looking for a good place to enjoy a cold one, watch the game and make some friends, we provide the best place to do just that! Our bar upstairs is a great place to casually enjoy company and we have several screens scattered around the bar so you'll never miss a hit. We also have tall tables and low, comfy chairs, so you'll find a great place to sit down and enjoy a sip or two. Check out some of the great beers we have on tap at Salsa on the Strip

Modelo - Modelo Especial is a pilsner-style lager. The original recipe was first brewed in Mexico in 1925, trying to create a 'model' beer.

Dos Equis Lager Especial - It is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water.

Dos Equis Amber - Nothing screams Dos Equis Amber than when you're eating some tasty Mexican burritos! This beer is very dark brown with a good amount of froth that dissipates quickly. The scent is strong but not overpowering. With faint hints of malts and barley the taste is magnificent.

Corona Light - This pale lager tastes fantastic in summer, though you can enjoy it all year round! With it's nice golden color and nice carbonation, it is a great summer thirst quencher.

Blue Moon Belgian White - It is brewed with oats for creaminess and spiced with the perfect combination of orange peel and coriander. This unfiltered wheat ale is spiced in the Belgian tradition for an uncommonly smooth taste.

Goose IPA - This beer recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result is a hop lover’s dream with a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, and long hop finish.

Stella Artois Cidre - This crisp and refreshing Belgian cider is made with hand-picked apples lending to a perfect combination of sour and sweet.

Stella Artois - It has been brewed in Leuven, Belgium, since 1926, although it is also brewed in other locations. This golden beer has nice woody scents lending to a refreshing aroma. The taste is light and smooth.

Leinenkugel Summer Shandy - A shandy is beer mixed with a little something extra like soda, juice or ginger ale. Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy is a traditional weiss beer with refreshing natural lemonade flavor that makes it perfect for the sun-splashed summer months.

Michelob Ultra - This Anheuser-Busch selection is brewed using the finest barley malt, select grains, all-imported hops and a pure-cultured yeast strain. The special choice of grains combined with the extended mashing process produces a smooth, refreshing beer with fewer carbohydrates.

Bud Light - Bud Light is brewed using a blend of premium aroma hop varieties, both American-grown and imported, and a combination of barley malts and rice. Its superior drinkability and refreshing flavor makes it the world’s favorite light beer.

These are the beers we have on tap, but we have such a vast amount of other cold beverages on hand as well! We have a nice selection of vodka, tequila and whisky. When you need to wet your whistle, we have what you need! Our restaurant also specializes in the best burritos at the Lake of the Ozarks, along with several other delicious Mexican dishes. On the lower level of our place we have nice areas to sit and watch the game while enjoying a Salsa Burrito. Upstairs we have our bar with a fun outdoor balcony where you can sit back and enjoy the breeze. Come spend your evening with us and grab some delicious food and drink a cold one!

It's National Tequila Day!

As the best Mexican restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, we absolutely HAVE to celebrate Tequila day! Our bar is a wonderful place to take a siesta and get a drink any day of the week. We have televisions scattered around the bar upstairs where you can keep up on the game. Grab a shot of tequila and celebrate with these 10 fun facts!

 1. There are five different types of tequila to choose from: Blanco, Joven, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo.

2. Tequila is made from the blue agave plant. The core of the plant contains "honey water", which is used for syrup (and tequila!) production.

3. Scientists have figured out a way to make artificial diamonds out of tequila. Unfortunately they are too small to be turned into jewelry...but they can be used for an array of electronic and industrial purposes!

4. Over 50 million liters of tequila are consumed every year in America.

5. If you're scared of the worm, don't be! The gusano larvae is found in the "lower-quality" cousin, mezcal. It was also, largely, a marketing ploy, since the gusano larvae is a type of moth that lives on the agave plant.

6. Some tequila is aged in barrels. Depending on the tequila it can take up to 30 YEARS to reach the perfect drinking age!

7. The men who harvest the blue agave for tequila are called Jimadors. They use a "coa" for harvesting which is a machete with circular blades.

8. Tequila has health benefits. By stimulating the appetite when taking a shot before lunch and one after a big dinner. It's also been suggested that tequila can help lower cholesterol.

9. Tequila aficionados don't do shots, instead they sip tequila from a special tequila glass or brandy snifter. The agave flavors and aromas can be properly enjoyed that way.

10. A bottle of tequila can last for years when unopened, but once you open a bottle you have one to two months before the agave profile is destroyed.

We think you need a shot of tequila in order for these facts to truly sink in! We have an excellent bar, with 12 beers on tap, some great vodka, and of course, tequila! With today being National Tequila Day, we can't think of a better way to celebrate this wonderful holiday than by taking a shot at our very own bar!

5 Fourth of July Traditions

Fourth of July is a nostalgic and fun time of summer. Everyone has their favorite foods, games and traditions that their family uses to celebrate the holiday. We hope that Salsa on the Strip will become your newest tradition as you enjoy this holiday weekend sitting on our upper level balcony enjoying a delicious burrito! While traditions can change around the nation, here are a few that we think are pretty fun no matter where you are.

1. Visiting the Fireworks Stand

The fireworks stand brings back so many memories! Kids everywhere love picking out their favorites explosives. The smoke bombs, sparklers, snakes, snappers, and then the HUGE fireworks! Nothing can be more nostalgic than the fireworks stand, and Americans agree. Over 213 million lbs. of fireworks are sold annually, with only 10% being the professional shows!

2. Picnics and Grilling

Considering the fact that 80% of Americans attend a barbecue or picnic, this is definitely a note-worthy tradition! Everyone gathers around the grill and picnic tables, shooing flies away from the food, and enjoying the company of friends. It's a tradition that lives on and is enjoyed by all! On the Fourth of July Americans eat over 150 million hot dogs, which is enough to stretch between D.C and L.A. more that five times! That is A LOT of hot dogs!

3. Hanging the American Flag

While many people have a flag up all year long, Independence Day is a time when even more bring out their flags. Over 66% of Americans display the American flag during the Fourth of July. This would be a fun tradition to incorporate into your celebrating, you can learn how to respect the flag, retire your old flag and rules for displaying. Display your flag proudly this Fourth of July and enjoy the tradition!

4. Fourth of July Parade

The Fourth of July Parade is a wonderful way to celebrate this fun holiday! Over 32% of Americans watch a fourth of July Parade. Find one in your local area and have a good time. You can see the Eldon Fourth of July Parade at 10:00 AM this Saturday!

5. Watching the Sky Light Up

And finally, the best tradition of all, the fireworks! Over 63% of Americans will gather together and watch a fireworks display, and 26% will set off their own fireworks. Here is a list of a few places you can see some excellent fireworks this weekend:

Freedom Celebration at Windermere
Friday, July 3rd, 9:00 PM

Old Kinderhook
Friday, July 3rd, starts at dusk

Bear Bottom Resort
Saturday & Sunday, July 4th & 5th at 9:45 PM

City of Eldon
Saturday, July 4th at dusk

Tan-Tar-A Resort

These are just a few of the traditions that make the Fourth of July a fun event celebrated by so many! Whether you do the ones listed here, or create your own traditions, we hope you have a wonderful weekend. May your Fourth of July holiday include lots of food, friends, family, and of course BURRITOS!
