Be Hoppy - Drink Beer

There's nothing hoppier than a cold glass of beer, a spicy Salsa Burrito, and a great seat at your favorite bar at the Lake of the Ozarks. At Salsa on the Strip we have 12 different beers on tap, just waiting for you to come enjoy them. Not to mention all of the other liquor we have, vodka, tequila, margaritas and more! Beer is an interesting and unique beverage, so we want to take some time to learn a little more about our favorite drink. Here are 7 fun facts to make you hoppy!

1. Ancient Babylonians were the firs to brew this fine beverage. They also took it so seriously that if you brewed a bad batch, they punished you by drowning you in it.

2. Certain water in certain regions can be better suited to making specific types of beer. Dublin's mineral-rich, hard water is great for making Stouts.

3. Storing your beer bottles uprights makes it taste better. It minimizes oxidation and contamination from the cap.

4. Pilgrims on the Mayflower stopped at Plymouth Rock instead of continuing on to Virginia because they ran out of supplies...more importantly, they ran out of beer.

5. In 1814 a brewery tank with 3,500 barrels of beer ruptured, which caused a tidal wave of beer through a London Parish.
